Welcome to a journey along my musical path...

Welcome to a journey along my musical path which led me to creating my second solo full length album project, Wanderlust Wishing Well. It is lush as it winds and bends, climbs and descends while accompanied by 28 musically gifted friends, some of whom are notable and even legendary in my opinion. The creative process brought me to Los Angeles, San Diego, Toronto, Hamilton, 1000 Islands, Ohio and extra contributions arrived from India and Italy. The music themes vary on such topics as love, loss, dreams, birth and death.

Since I began whistling at ten months old, music has been a huge part of me. In recent years I’ve spent time steeping and deciding on which of the many songs I’ve written to record next.

Friends involved are from various musical backgrounds which I love including jazz, world, classical, prog rock, psychedelic and pop. Since I hear arrangements in my mind when I write a song, I find great pleasure in working with such musicians who play traditional and unique ethnic instruments from both the Western and Eastern hemispheres of our globe. As well, I have a fondness and fascination for incorporating antique instrumentation that tell a story including the Mellotron, Arp 2600, a baby grand used to create the music for silent films in Los Angeles and one of the world's oldest foley stages within a sound studio in Los Angeles that was built by the Pacific Electric Company in the early 20th Century. In the 60s it was owned by Liberace and then by the inventor of the time code, Bruce Scott.

I feel the result of Wanderlust Wishing Well is my heart through song – an organic self produced sonic experience that I hope you will enjoy!

Wanderlust Wishing Well : Behind the Scenes

Here's a fun 16 minute compilation from the times a camera was present to capture some snippets during the making of Wanderlust Wishing Well! As you can see, things aren't always so serious! ;) We had a blast making this album and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it! You may recognize a few of my friends including Matt Tecu shown first and Fernando Perdomo shown third who are in the acclaimed documentary now on Netflix, Echo In The Canyon. As well featured on the album and many shown in this footage include Linda Perhacs, Sahra Featherstone, Neeraj Prem, Scott Bassman, Kristian Hoffman, Timur Bekbosunov, David Bash, Chris Price, Raquel Villalobos, Lucas McGough, Nate Light, Evie Rain, Oreste Licata, Dan Zivkovic, Craig Parker Adams, Maurizio Guarini, Dave Kerzner, Michael Cudahy, Mario Marin, Maryem Tollar, Ernie Tollar, Ravi Naimpally, Eddie Pimentel, Everett Kelly, Roy Clarke, Kaitlin Wolfberg. A little bit of footage at the Comedy Store in Hollywood as well with my friend Brad Watson who plays piano weekly there. Ironwolf Wolves are the sweet wolves in the footage and on my album cover.

“Spending an hour with the narcotic splendor of Ms. Leakey’s sultry sounds is like taking a stroll underwater through limpid, star-spangled honey... on Ecstasy.”
Michael Cudahy AKA The Millionaire, Combustible Edison
“...hallucination friendly, neo-sike pop at its best, which could easily have been recorded in a small, smokey, avant guard Paris night club, a 30’s Chicago, cabaret, in a timeless corner of the Twilight Zone, a bohemian bar in New York’s Village...”
Mark Wirtz, Ivor Novello Award-winning 60’s EMI Records/Abbey Road Studios
